Dog fences provide an excellent form of pet security.

Dog owners with property have options. They can let their dog run loose, which is illegal. They can chain their dog, which is frowned upon and cruel. They can walk the dog on a leash, never letting it outside alone. Or they can fence their yard. But should their fence be electric or real? There are pluses and minuses to both kinds of dog fences.

Aloft/CAAR partnership finds new homes for 81 rescued dogs

Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue (CAAR) has worked since the summer of 2014, with the management and staff of the Aloft Downtown Asheville hotel in a creative program that has the hotel fostering animals available for adoption by its guests. The results have been excellent.

Fosters needed this spring for blooming kitten population

Fosters are needed for kittens this spring and summer.

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is seeking support from fosters in the greater Asheville area this spring and summer for an expected 1,500 kittens that will come into care this “kitten season.” Kitten season happens when the weather warms up and stray and feral cats begin reproducing, resulting in an abundance of kittens in need of rescue.
